“Brilliant. Eye opening. Great (insights, content, pace). Super relevant. Very informative. Professional. Engaging. Thought provoking. Practical. Simple, easy to apply. Very applicable. Useful. Brief and to the point. Positive.” A few of the comments from the 20 participants at the September 18th Leadership by Engaging Others seminar. Pretty impactful way of spending 2 hours.
Leadership by Engaging Others is the third of five modules in the Quota Sales Self Leadership journey (no… you don’t become an exceptional leader by simply attending one seminar) leading participants toward the principle goal of outstanding business results. But it’s less about the destination and more about the journey because along the way you grow, learn, perform better, build stronger teams, collaborate more effectively, create more loyal customers, build stronger and longer lasting relationships, and… wait for it… find joy, peace and fulfillment. In Leadership by Engaging Others we tackled topics such as trust, presence, corporate purpose, relationships, and the holy trinity of engagement aka E.C.M. (reach out to me to decipher ECM), commitment and accountability.
The first in the series, Leadership Starts with YOU dealt with what the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle called “know thyself” and introduced several self-assessment tools (Thomas PPA and Trait Emotional Intelligence) so participants gained keen insights into their personality, behaviours, emotions and strengths.
Demystifying Leadership was the second in the series and we explored characteristics of leaders we admire, shifted focus from you to others, uncovered individual core values and related to corporate values and culture, unpacked and learned to leverage fear of failure, and activated your leadership vocabulary.
The next/fourth in the series called Creating Loyal Customers will explore the economics of loyalty, commoditization, the pricing paradox (is your price really too high?), interactions and transactions, and customer segmentation. Again in a 2-hour seminar at the Albany Club in Toronto (date in January to be finalized). Drop me a line to find out more or to register early… remember that nothing happens until something happens.
